A motorist who allegedly struck several vehicles in Malibu before his van went off the side of Pacific Coast Highway and crashed into the ocean was in custody Friday.
The crash occurred late Thursday night near the Los Angeles County/Ventura County line, according to a sergeant at the sheriff’s Malibu/Lost Hills Station.
The name of the man was not immediately available.
The man’s Chevrolet Express van was westbound on PCH when it collided with seven vehicles in Malibu before crossing into Ventura County, the Los Angeles Daily News reported.
As the van traveled across the Ventura County line, it hit at least one other vehicle before the driver veered back into Los Angeles County and crashed on the beach in the area of Leo Carrillo State Park, the newspaper reported.
